Twenty years, five frames (Paris)

<div>I lived in Paris for twenty years. Searching hard, I have five frames left. You don't photograph home. You keep the camera for travel, because daily life seems to go without saying. Then you leave, and you see you kept almost nothing. What's left doesn't even look like Paris: a wedding of strangers, an old man walking away, a photo hung on a cracked wall. Passings, departures. What was familiar stays out of the frame, here more than anywhere. Two monuments remain too: the only times I played tourist in my own city.</div><div><br></div>
