Films and series
The films and series I watch, one by one. For each one, my view in a sentence or two. When they exist, I add two ratings: Télérama’s (from Bravo, the best, to Hélas, the worst) and Rotten Tomatoes’ (the share of positive reviews).

- Hamnet — Chloé Zhao · ·
The film imagines how the loss of their son Hamnet led Shakespeare to write Hamlet. What struck me was the quality of the acting, led by Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal. It really feels like a stage play brought to the screen. - American Gangster — Ridley Scott · ·
A masterpiece. The true story of Frank Lucas, a heroin dealer in 1970s Harlem, and of Richie Roberts, the detective who hunts him. A classic that inspired many films after it, carried by two major actors, Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. - American Made — Doug Liman · ·
Good. The true story of a TWA pilot who became a smuggler for the CIA and for the Medellín cartel, played by Tom Cruise. It has aged and is far from the best of its genre, but it is a good time. And a reminder of what the United States did in Latin America in the 1980s. - Atomic Blonde — David Leitch · ·
Very good. A spy film set in Berlin in 1989, just before the Wall fell. I loved the look of the images, the soundtrack full of 1980s hits and Charlize Theron in the lead role. The Berlin atmosphere is perfectly captured. - Hope — Na Hong-jin · in the cinema · ·
I loved the humour and the pace: the film switches without warning from farce to monster movie. A bit long towards the end, at 2 hours 40.
